Description

Horsetail: Horsetail vitamins for hair growth’s principal ingredient is the mineral silica, or silicon, which strengthens hair strands, as well as nails and bones. We manually harvest and infuse our horsetail oil.

Castor oil: Sourced from the castor bean (Ricinus communis), castor oil is rich in ricinoleic acid. When applied to the scalp, it’s purported to enhance the health of the hair follicles and, in turn, promote hair growth, as well as protect against hair loss.

Black seed oil: The black seeds that are pressed for black seed oil come from Nigella sativa, a flowering plant found in Western Asia, Northern Africa, and Eastern Europe. The oil contains biotin selenium and folic acid. These promote keratin formation and are good for hair root cell renewal.

Shea butter: Shea butter’s anti-inflammatory properties might also help reduce redness and scalp irritation by providing healing effects without clogging the pores. Additionally, as a natural product, it’s safe to use on all types of hair, even hair that’s damaged, dry, or color treated. The butter is extracted from a seed and provides a rich and ultra moisturizing butter.

Sandalwood: Supports healthy skin and moisturizing. Promote relaxation and grounding, encourage focus; ground and center the body and mind. Encourages deep relaxation. Awakens sensuality, invokes calmness and deep relaxation. This state allows for greater intuition and sense of awareness, particularly when opening up to and learning unconditional love.

Sweet aromatic scent of wood.

Bergamot essential oils: Supportive of healthy skin. Bergamot releases the need to be in complete control so that we can flow with life more easily. When we can relax and trust the universe to handle details of any life situation, we release the fear of the unknown and become clear about our own mission. Its sweet and fruity aroma is uplifting and relaxing.

The Best Medicinal Herbs to Naturally Detox Your Body

Have you been feeling heavy lately? The spring is the perfect time to naturally detox your body with medicinal herbs and renew your physical self in sync with nature.

“Detox” and “cleanse” are popular buzz words, but the truth is that your body doesn’t need any restrictive diets or “detox protocols” to flush out harmful toxins, pollutants, and other chemicals from your system. What it needs is natural support.

Medicinal herbs gently help your body do its job and promote healthy detoxification, helping you feel and look your best. And here are eight medicinal herbs to naturally detox your body, hand-picked by a certified herbalist.

Dandelion Root

In the modern world, your liver has to work very hard to filter out toxins that enter your body with food, pollution, and even beauty products. Dandelion root naturally supports your liver, helping it protect your body from harmful substances.

How? Dandelion Root contains polysaccharides that can purify and protect the liver, helping it remove harmful substances from your system. Scientific studies have confirmed what natural healers have known for centuries: Dandelion Root is a magical addition to your wellness routine if you want to naturally improve liver health.

Try Dandelion Root in Herbalista’s Liver Detox Tincture Blend!

Burdock Root

Your liver doesn’t work alone to cleanse your body. Your body’s detoxification system includes the kidneys, the lymphatic system, and even your skin, and all of these organs need natural support to perform their best. One of the most powerful medicinal herbs to naturally detox your body, Burdock root can support your lymphatic system, skin, and kidneys to help them cleanse your body better.

Chlorella

Chlorella is a single-celled green alga that lives in fresh water. It contains a large amount of chlorophyll, the substance that makes plants green and carries oxygen. Chlorella is a magical way to support the health of your blood and make it more efficient at detoxifying your body. It can help eliminate toxic waste, heavy metals, and even radiation from the body.

Incorporating chlorella into your wellness routine is also a fantastic way to support your digestive system and gut health. Get a shot with Chlorella from the Alchemy Bar in Cabarete and give your health a green boost!

Spirulina

Another type of algae, spirulina is not only incredibly nutritious, but also helps to detoxify the body from heavy metals such as Mercury. Toxic heavy metals enter your body with food or from the environment and tend to accumulate over time. Spirulina’s structure allows it to easily absorb them, promoting detoxification & wellness. Find Spirulina and Chlorella in the Emerald Cleanse herbal supplement.

Fennel

If you’ve been feeling bloated or constipated, Fennel is a fantastic herb for a gut cleanse.

What is the best way to incorporate Fennel into your detox routine? Naturally support your digestive health with this simple Ayurvedic Wise Water recipe:

1 tbsp coriander seed powder

1 tbsp fennel seed powder

1 tbsp cumin seed powder

1 L of boiled water

Brew for 15 minutes. Drink 4 cups per day for one month.

Wise Water can reduce bloating & gas, cleanse your gut from toxins, and flush out rotten food.

Turmeric

Turmeric is one of the best herbs to naturally detox your body. Its main antioxidant, curcumin, may support your liver and lower inflammation, boosting your overall health.

Because of its bright yellow color, turmeric can get messy. Herbalista’s Golden Mylk is a delicious way to support good digestion, improve liver function, and encourage a healthy inflammatory response. Simply add 1 teaspoon to your plant milk of choice or hot water, blend on high, and sip in bliss.

Calendula

“Calendula” comes from Latin and means “the first day of the month.” If you’re looking to give your body a fresh start, can any other name be more appropriate?

Calendula is a great herb if you’re struggling with a leaky gut. It also promotes liver health and helps to control candida overgrowth. Enjoy Calendula in Herbalista’s Detoxify Me! Herbal Tea Blend and or the Skin Glow Tea Blend and heal naturally!

Do you want personalized guidance on your detox journey? Book a Wellness Session with Alita, the founder of Herbalista & a holistic herbal coach, to naturally transform your health.

Self-Soothing Rituals for a Broken Heart

If you’re healing from a broken heart, it’s important to give yourself extra self-love. Here at Herbalista, we’ve come up with a unique heart-soothing activity list packed with holistic rituals, delicious hot beverages, and, of course, medicinal herbs!

Give Your Skin Some Love

Spend a few extra moments lounging in bed and gently massaging your skin from head to toes. Allow yourself to listen to your body and avoid rushing through your movements.

Therapeutic touch like this sends signals to your brain that reduce stress and anxiety. If you feel like you’ve been burdened with too much lately, this ritual can help you decompress and deeply connect to your body.

Enjoy a Hot Drink

Use medicinal plants to make yourself a delicious hot drink to go with your breakfast. Herbalista’s top picks are rose, lemon balm, cacao, and mimosa bark, all of which boast of mood-enhancing properties.

Alternatively, hibiscus and vanilla can soothe soul wounds and help you move forward. And if you’re ready to start dating again, try damiana for emotional resilience, joy, and heart protection.

Take a Walk

Go on a relaxing walk in your favorite spot. If you’re located in Cabarete, visit our Apothecary and get a soothing medicinal drink at our Alchemy Bar. You can also browse our selection of essential oils, flower essences, and crystals, all available for purchase.

Meditate with Essential Oils

Meditation has been proven to improve mood and emotional regulation, even if you only meditate for short periods of time. Use essential oils to enhance your meditation, bringing you closer to the state of blissful calmness.

Use rose-based essential oils, such as rose geranium, rose absolute, and palmarosa, to expand your heart energy center and activate your Heart Chakra. You can use an oil diffuser or simply place a few drops of the oil of your choosing on your chest, where your Heart Chakra is located.

Treat Yourself to a Gua Sha Facial

Gua Sha — pronounced gwa sha — is a gentler version of a traditional Chinese beauty technique. It can tone your skin and give it a healthy glow. Gua Sha involves slowly massaging your face with a special stone tool and applying soft pressure. Rose quartz tool is best to honor your heart.

Gua Sha facials are thought to improve blood circulation, move lymphatic fluids, and release muscle tension, resulting in a youthful glow. They can also reduce the appearance of wrinkles and puffiness, making your skin look more supple.

At our Herbalista Apothecary, we offer a weekly Gua Sha facial, which includes a 25-minute beauty session, a skin glow infusion, and a complimentary 100% organic face serum for your skin type. Book it now!

Make Rose Water

Rose is the medicine of the heart. Water infused with rose petals can be used to attract love and passion, boost self-confidence, and clear our stagnant energy. It’s best to make rose water from fresh petals of any color that resonates with you. Just pour water over the petals and simmer over low heat until the water changes color. Then transfer it into a jar, using a cheesecloth to strain the petals.

You can add rose water to your bath as a beauty ritual or spray it on your face.

Make Your Own Face Mask

Finish your day up with a natural DYI face mask, our herbalist’s special recipe!

1 tbsp green clay

1/4 tsp turmeric

1/4 tsp cinnamon

1 tsp honey

1 drop of your favorite essential oil

Herbalista Tip: We love rose geranium and immortelle essential oils for their rejuvenating properties.

Trickle water until the mask’s consistency starts to resemble peanut butter. Leave it on for 2-5 minutes, then wash it off and exfoliate.

This simple mask detoxifies your skin, removes dead cells, and promotes a radiant glow. If you’re looking for more natural beauty rituals, you can find Herbalista’s favorite ones here.

How are you taking care of your heart? Share your rituals in the comments or tag us on Instagram at @herbalistalove!
