White Sage – A go to essential for any smudging kit. While aiming to purify and protect, it is equally used to cleanse, heal and open space for deep meditations. Its scent is herbaceous, sweet, and slightly astringent. When mixed with other herbs, it makes for a beautiful base in any custom smudging blend.
Palo Santo – A wood that acts as a natural incense. It is used to clear out negative energies while increasing relaxation, overall peace and joy within any space. Its sweet aroma is smooth, aromatic and spicy.
Blue Sage – A herb used for its medicinal and magical applications. Often utilized in cleansing and healing rituals, it also welcomes spiritual strength. A perfect tool to smudge malevolent spirits away. Its aroma is both herbaceous and floral.
Copal – A sacred resin known for clearing negative energies while connecting us to a higher consciousness, spiritual realms and positive vibrations. It creates a light, citrus and piney scent.
Frankincense – Gifted to Jesus upon his birth, it is used as a link to the divine while bringing a grounding sense of relaxation and connectedness. Perfect for getting into a spiritually meditative state, its scent is aromatic with notes of citrus and spice.
Cedar Leaves – A medicine of protection, it is often used to cleanse a home when first moving in. It is excellent in warding off negative spirits while protecting a person, place or object from unwanted energies. Its aroma is both woodsy and fresh.
Sandalwood – A widely used metaphysical plant of the world, it is said to have stimulating effects on the third eye chakra as well as the pineal and pituitary glands. Known for clearing the mind, it promotes feelings of inner peace and greater unity to the entire being. Its sweet aroma is woody, balsamic and slightly musky all while remining quite soft.
Myrrh – Often used to purify and cleanse magical spaces and tools, it can be incorporated into a blend with other herbs or resins. It can be included in rituals related to banishing, for protecting any forms of psychic attacks and breaking curses. It is aromatic both woody, all while holding a slightly medicinal yet cooling scent.
Incense from India – Often used in practices of worship and medicinal use, incense can be added to any ritual to enhance feelings of mindfulness.
